BlackBerry Shortcuts

Do you own a BlackBerry smartphone? If you ever suffer frustrating amounts of time trying to resolve a problem on it or make the phone run faster than it already does, don’t fret, there is a solution. This guide will give you some easy hints and tips for BlackBerry shortcuts you can use on your phone to make it operate faster, and perhaps more efficiently as well.

App and Game Settings
Let’s say you want to view more options for a particular game or application you are running on your BlackBerry. Go into the app, and then press the Menu button. A list of options and settings for that particular app should come up, where you can then configure them to your liking.

Locking and Unlocking the Phone
To lock your phone, set the unlock password that only you would know. Next, press and hold the asterisk key. The phone is now locked. To unlock your phone, simply press and hold the asterisk key again, then type in the unlock password. Congratulations, you have now unlocked your phone successfully!

Changing Ringtones More Efficiently
If you don’t want to spend all that time aimlessly changing your ringtone settings through the main menu, there is a quicker, more efficient way to do it. All you need to do is be on the home screen of your phone, and then press the send key. Next, press menu, and then select Set Ring Tone. This is quite simple, and you will most likely appreciate it more once you get used to doing it this way.

A Second Ignore Option
Typically on the average phone, there are two options displayed on screen whenever you have an incoming call. You can either choose to answer or ignore the call. When you push ignore, the call goes to voicemail, and you can listen to the message later. If you are in a public place and you don’t have time to fumble with the touchscreen buttons on your phone, simply press and hold the volume down key. It will send your incoming call to voicemail, just like what the ignore button does. In a way, you could sort of consider this to be a second ignore option on your phone. It’s just been hidden from you until now.

Messaging Shortcuts
If you are already inside of a text message that someone has sent to you, there are quite a few things you can do with it. First of all, if you would like to reply to the message, but you don’t feel like hitting reply, you can simply press the exclamation point key. If you choose to forward the message to someone else, you can press the period key. If you are in the messages list and you want to compose a new message, press the comma key. To look at your voice mail from within the message list, pres alt 7. To look at all your messages at once, press the escape key.
