Message Composition
There are a few ways you can compose messages on your BlackBerry phone. If you are already on the home screen, simply hit the C button, and it will give you the opportunity to compose a new message. You can do the same thing if you are within your messages list.

To find someone’s name or contact information in your phone’s address book, first, enter the address book. Next, type the first few letters of the person’s name, and it should find the person you are looking for. If not, check the spelling and try it again.
Password Protection
If you want to make it so that nobody can get into your mobile phone without permission, the best way is to set a password on your phone. Make sure that the password is something that only you know. Next, go to the Options menu and then click on Security. set the desired timeout (preferably 15 minutes), meaning that if you do not use your phone within a certain time frame, it will lock. Then set the password. To truly keep your phone safe in the event that it may ever get stolen, go to the Options menu, and then select: “Owner.” Enter your name, phone number, and more. Once your password protection is activated, this information will be displayed on the screen so that your phone has a higher chance of being returned to you if it is lost or stolen.
How to Save Battery Life
If you are in a no or low-coverage area, try manually turning off the radio feature on your BlackBerry by using Options, and then selecting Auto On Off. This should help to save some of the battery power being consumed by your phone, because it won’t be transmitting as much.
Another Way to Reboot
Another way to reboot your BlackBerry if it freezes is to hold Alt, Cap, and Backspace. This should reboot the phone, just like the other trick we showed you in previous articles. However, if you find that the problem still persists, you may need to remove the battery. This trick was simply designed to show you that you do not necessarily need to remove the battery in situations like this.
